The Wine

Once again this cuvée is a blend of 67% of our estate fruit (777) and 33% fruit from Zenith Vineyard (Pommard). These are usually single-vineyard bottlings that are only blended for this auction. The wine highlights the dark fruit typical of the Eola-Amity Hills and has structure and tannin that suggest aging potential. The two vineyards are roughly five miles apart on the eastern side of the AVA, and these blocks are over 20 years old. This wine was in 30% new French oak for 15 months. The wine was bottled unfined and unfiltered.

The winery

Redhawk Winery is a small family–owned and operated winery. After spending 20 years in the corporate world, John & Betty Pataccoli purchased the property 12 years ago pursuing their love of wine. We grow premium-quality Pinot noir, Pinot gris, Dolcetto and Riesling.
