The Wine

As is true for every great wine, this story starts in the vineyard, quite literally from sticks planted in stones. More specifically this wine was born from the most mature vines on the eastern blocks of our Revana Estate Vineyard, rooted deep in the Dundee Hills’ iron-rich volcanic soils. Since its first harvest the fruit from this parcel of land has consistently set the bar for our wines each vintage. This one-of-a-kind five-case lot is composed of hand-selected barrels that come together seamlessly to create a texture-driven wine balanced by bright acidity and soft, fine-grained tannins.

Sticks and stones may break my bones but this Pinot noir excites me!

The Winery

In 2005, vintner Dr. Madaiah Revana acquired our 80-acre estate located on the northwestern corner of the Dundee Hills AVA where iron-rich volcanic soils converge with ancient marine sedimentary soils of the Pacific Ocean. With a total of 18 soil types, each vineyard block of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris is individually cultivated in celebration of the property’s diverse soils, clonal selections and microclimates. In the cellar, winemaker Bryan Weil carries out a minimalist approach to winemaking by focusing on small lot fermentations and native yeasts to produce wines that express a distinct sense of time and place.
