The Wine

Originally planted in 1997, Lone Star Vineyard showcases the Eola-Amity Hills unique combination of structure and elegance. This block comes from a small, high-density planting of 667 that only gives us two 1.5-ton fermenters every year. We did one fermenter completely destemmed and one fermenter completely whole cluster to directly compare the unique style of each method. For this auction wine, we chose to bottle the whole cluster version due to its unique combination of floral, spice, wet earth and silky yet powerful core. The wine spent 28 days in the fermenter and was only foot tread six times in total, to capture elegance and purity.

The WInery

Argyle Winery was founded in 1987 to produce méthode champenoise sparkling wines, Chardonnay, Riesling and Pinot noir in the volcanic soils of the Dundee Hills and Eola-Amity Hills.
