A lone glass sits at the bar, back to the crowd, deep in thought. You can’t stop looking at this wine. There’s something about the lovely red-black fruit in the 115 clone and sweet spice from 10 months in a new Gillet Grande Selection M+ plus four months in neutral oak that draws you back for another sip. It has excellent structure, moderate tannins and perfect balance. Its nose is sweet, floral and fresh. On the palate, it’s dark with enticing oak, tobacco and red clay. Firm with a great length and silky finish, this wine will only get better with age.
