The Wine

We are delighted to present our second-edition Willamette Auction Pinot Noir! This is a beautiful rendition that displays our estate vineyard in full glory. The final six-barrel blend, selected from among our favorites, is predominantly from Francois Frères barrels and later-ripening blocks. It is composed of 15% whole-cluster fermentations for added spice, texture and dimension. The wine straddles red and dark fruits, with flowers, spice and wild mushrooms on the nose. The palate is seamless, yet there is a nice underlying acidity that should plump this up for years to come. It finishes silky, uplifting and long.

A glorious growing season coupled with rigorous thinning (low yields) reveals a classic structure with longevity in mind. 100% native ferments, gentle pumpovers and punchdowns and aging in French oak (only 30% new) are vividly on display both aromatically and texturally.

The Winery

Ron and Marianne Lachini founded their estate vineyard in 1998. The 45-acre vineyard is located on the backdrop of the Chehalem Mountains and is farmed with meticulous biodynamic and holistic practices. Since their first vintage in 2001, their goal has been to nurture the vineyard’s distinctive terroir and craft profound wines of complexity, balance and grace. You are invited to delight your senses of their exquisite wines via the lens of a glass.
